Year-End Financial Reporting

Turn a year of transactions into usable company accounts

Annual accounts bring together the financial activity of your business for its financial year. They give owners, tax advisers, auditors and other authorised parties a structured view of the company’s financial position and performance.

First Elite Global supports UAE companies with annual financial statement preparation, financial-record organisation, Corporate Tax record support and assistance with relevant submission requirements where these apply to the company’s legal form or jurisdiction.

The exact requirement is not identical for every UAE company. Mainland companies, free-zone entities and companies operating under separate financial-centre frameworks can follow different audit and filing rules. The first step should therefore be to confirm the company type, financial year, jurisdiction and tax position before treating any deadline as universal.

Know the Difference

Annual accounts, bookkeeping and audit are separate stages

Keeping these functions separate helps you understand what has already been completed and what your company may still need after the year end.

Ongoing

Bookkeeping

Bookkeeping records and organises transactions during the year, including income, expenses and the supporting financial records behind them.

Year end

Annual accounts

Annual accounts convert the year-end accounting records into formal financial statements that show the company’s financial position and performance for the period.

Where required

External audit

An audit is an independent assurance process carried out by an appropriately appointed auditor. Whether it is required depends on the company’s legal form, jurisdiction and other applicable requirements.

Service Scope

What Our Annual Accounts Support Covers

The service is designed around the financial year that has ended and the records needed to produce a clear year-end position. Scope can be matched to the size and complexity of the business.

01

Financial statement preparation

Prepare the annual financial statements from the company’s available accounting records and year-end information.

02

Corporate Tax record support

Organise financial information so the accounts and the records supporting the company’s Corporate Tax position can be reviewed together.

03

Requirement and submission review

Identify whether separate authority, jurisdiction or audit steps are relevant rather than assuming one filing route applies to every UAE entity.

04

Post-year-end guidance

Clarify the next financial-record, tax or reporting steps that follow the accounts preparation stage.

Document Readiness

What to Prepare for Your Year-End Accounts

Good year-end accounts depend on the records behind them. The current page correctly identifies company documents, previous financial statements, transaction details and tax-registration information as important starting material.

  • Company registration documents
  • Previous financial statements, where available
  • Business transaction records for the financial year
  • Corporate Tax registration information
  • Relevant bank statements and reconciliations
  • Sales and purchase records
  • Expense and supporting payment records
  • VAT records where relevant to the business

Additional records may be requested depending on the company’s activities, accounting system, assets, financing, ownership transactions and reporting requirements.

How It Works

A year-end process built around your accounts

Instead of a company-formation journey, this page now follows the actual steps involved in understanding and preparing annual accounts.

Confirm the company and reporting period

Start with the legal entity, financial year, jurisdiction and current accounting position so the scope is based on the company you actually operate.

Collect the accounting records

Gather the company documents, previous accounts, transaction records and tax-related information needed for the financial year.

Review the year-end information

Identify missing information, inconsistencies or areas that need clarification before the financial statements are finalised.

Prepare the annual financial statements

Bring the year-end records into a structured financial reporting format that reflects the company’s financial position and performance.

Confirm the next compliance step

Review the relationship between the accounts, Corporate Tax records and any separate audit or jurisdiction-specific submission requirement that applies.

Flexible Support

Annual accounts support for different business needs

The existing Basic, Standard and Premium structure is retained, but the scope is now presented around annual accounts rather than generic business-setup packages.

Basic

Essential Year-End Support

Designed for startups and smaller businesses that need financial statement preparation and year-end compliance checks.

Standard

Broader Accounts Support

Designed for growing businesses that need wider support, including tax-record management and filing assistance where relevant to the agreed scope.

Premium

Detailed Financial Support

Designed for larger or more complex businesses requiring detailed financial analysis and ongoing consultancy alongside the annual accounts work.

The appropriate service level should be confirmed after reviewing the company, available records and the work required for the relevant financial year.

First Elite Global

Business support beyond the year-end file

Annual accounts sit within a wider business-support relationship. Where another requirement falls outside the accounts scope, the relevant service can be kept separate rather than mixing unrelated formation work into this page.

Annual Accounts FAQs

Questions UAE companies often ask at year end

What are annual accounts for a UAE company?

Annual accounts are the financial statements prepared for a company’s financial year. They summarise its financial position and performance using the accounting records maintained for that period.

Does every UAE company need audited financial statements?

Audit requirements depend on the legal form, jurisdiction and other applicable rules. The federal Commercial Companies Law includes annual audit requirements for LLCs and joint-stock companies within its scope, while free zones and financial free zones can have separate requirements. The company’s specific position should therefore be checked before assuming an exemption or deadline.

Are annual accounts the same as bookkeeping?

No. Bookkeeping is the ongoing recording and organisation of financial transactions throughout the year. Annual accounts are prepared from those records at the end of the financial period.

What documents are needed to prepare annual accounts?

The starting information normally includes company registration documents, previous financial statements where available, transaction records for the year and relevant tax-registration details. Additional records can be required depending on the company’s activities and accounting position.

Are annual accounts the same as a Corporate Tax return?

No. Financial statements and the Corporate Tax return are connected but they are not the same document. The accounts provide financial information used in determining and supporting the company’s tax position, while the Corporate Tax return is a separate filing with the Federal Tax Authority.

How long should Corporate Tax records be retained?

The Federal Tax Authority states that records and supporting documents for Corporate Tax purposes should be retained for at least seven years following the end of the relevant Tax Period.

What if the bookkeeping is incomplete at year end?

Missing or incomplete records normally need to be identified and addressed before reliable annual financial statements can be finalised. The first step is to review what records are available and determine what information still needs to be supplied or corrected.
