UK visa support

UK Visa Application Support for Work and Business Routes

UK visa application support helps professionals, founders and overseas businesses organise the correct work or business route, identify sponsor or endorsement prerequisites and prepare a route-specific document plan. First Elite Global coordinates business-setup and administrative support, with regulated immigration advice or representation supplied only by an appropriately authorised adviser. UKVI, sponsors and endorsing bodies control eligibility and decisions; no visa, timeline or settlement outcome is guaranteed.

Choose by purpose

Match the UK route to the actual activity

Employment, launching an innovative business, expanding an overseas company and making a short business visit are different immigration purposes. The sponsor, endorsement, role, applicant history and current rules must be checked before a document list or quote is prepared.

There is no single “UK Business Visa” or “self-sponsorship visa”

Those phrases are commonly used in marketing, but they do not identify one immigration category. A founder may need Innovator Founder permission, a genuine sponsored Skilled Worker role, a UK Expansion Worker route or visitor permission for limited business activities. Registering a company does not by itself create visa eligibility.

  • Define the activity the applicant will perform in the UK
  • Confirm whether sponsorship or endorsement is required
  • Separate company setup from immigration permission
  • Use the current route rules, not a generic package label
01

Skilled Worker and Health and Care Worker

For an eligible role with a Home Office-approved sponsor. The applicant normally needs a confirmed job offer and a valid Certificate of Sponsorship before applying.

  • Sponsor, occupation and genuine-role check
  • Current salary and English-language rules
  • Applicant and dependant eligibility
Check Skilled Worker rules
02

Founder-led sponsored employment

A founder-owned UK company may explore a sponsor licence and a Skilled Worker application for a genuine qualifying role. This is not a separate self-sponsorship visa.

  • Company and sponsor-licence readiness
  • Genuine vacancy, duties and salary evidence
  • Separate licence, CoS and visa decisions
Review sponsor duties
03

Innovator Founder

For a founder with a new, innovative, viable and scalable UK business idea that receives endorsement from an approved endorsing body.

  • Approved endorsement required
  • Founder must play a key business role
  • Ongoing endorsement checkpoints apply
Check Innovator Founder rules
04

UK Expansion Worker

For a senior manager or specialist employee assigned to establish a UK branch of an overseas business that has not started trading in the UK.

  • Eligible overseas-business connection
  • Sponsor licence and CoS requirements
  • Temporary route with no direct settlement path
Check Expansion Worker rules
05

Global Talent and HPI

Some applicants may qualify without employer sponsorship. Global Talent and High Potential Individual routes use different achievements, qualification and settlement tests.

  • Endorsement or eligible prize for Global Talent
  • Eligible recent university award for HPI
  • Different duration and settlement consequences
Review Global Talent
06

Standard Visitor for business

For meetings, conferences, contract negotiations and other permitted activities. Visitor permission does not allow general paid or unpaid work in the UK.

  • Nationality and ETA or visa check
  • Permitted-activity evidence
  • Funds, travel and intention to leave
Check business-visit rules
Current route corrections

Three outdated assumptions to remove

These points were checked against current GOV.UK guidance on 10 August 2026. Route details still need to be confirmed for the individual application.

Innovator Founder is the current name

The former Innovator route is now Innovator Founder. It requires an approved endorsement and evidence that the business is new, innovative, viable and scalable.

Company setup is not immigration approval

Companies House registration, a sponsor licence, a Certificate of Sponsorship and an individual's visa are separate processes with separate evidence and decisions.

Settlement and dependant rights vary by route and remain conditional. A visa lasting several years does not create automatic indefinite leave to remain or British citizenship.

Defined support boundary

What UK visa application support can cover

The engagement should state who provides administrative coordination, who provides regulated immigration advice, what the applicant or sponsor must supply and which outcomes remain outside any private provider's control.

First Elite Global coordination

Support should be limited to the written scope agreed for the case.

  • Collect the initial applicant and business brief
  • Coordinate UK company-setup services where separately required
  • Organise document inventories and administrative milestones
  • Arrange translation or document support when required
  • Coordinate with the sponsor or authorised immigration professional

Applicant and sponsor

The people and organisations named in the application remain responsible for truthful evidence and ongoing compliance.

  • Provide accurate personal, employment and business information
  • Meet the current route, role, salary or endorsement criteria
  • Maintain genuine sponsor systems and records where applicable
  • Attend identity, biometric or interview appointments
  • Pay official, sponsor, endorsement and third-party charges

Regulated adviser and authorities

Personal immigration advice and representation must be handled by an appropriately authorised professional.

  • Confirm legal route suitability and case strategy
  • Advise on refusals, switching, complex history or settlement
  • Prepare or submit an application where representation is agreed
  • UKVI decides the immigration application
  • Sponsors and endorsing bodies make their own decisions
Regulatory check: GOV.UK states that immigration advisers must be registered with the Immigration Advice Authority or belong to an approved professional body. Confirm the name and status of the person giving advice before you instruct them.
Application stages

How a UK work or business visa case is organised

The sequence changes by route and whether the applicant is applying from outside the UK, extending or switching. A well-scoped case normally follows these six stages.

01

Define the UK activity

Record the applicant's nationality, current status, intended work or business activity, UK connection, target date and dependant plans.

02

Assess possible routes

An authorised adviser checks the relevant immigration category, switching restrictions, sponsor or endorsement need and material risk factors.

03

Complete prerequisites

Secure the job offer, sponsor licence, CoS, endorsement, overseas-company evidence or permitted-business-visit basis required by the chosen route.

04

Build the evidence file

Gather identity, immigration, employment, business, funds, English, family and health records, with translations where required.

05

Apply and prove identity

Complete the correct online application and use the UK Immigration ID Check app or a visa application centre when instructed.

06

Decision and handover

Respond to any lawful request, review the decision and immigration status evidence, then note sponsor, endorsement, extension or reporting duties.

Route-specific sequence: a visitor does not need a sponsor licence or CoS. Innovator Founder needs endorsement. Sponsored work routes require the correct sponsor and role before the individual's visa application can succeed.
Document readiness

Build the checklist from the chosen UK route

No single document list applies to every applicant. Start with identity and current status, then add the sponsor, endorsement, employment, business, funds, health and family evidence required by the selected route.

UK passport and travel documents used for visa preparation

Start with identity and immigration position

Whether the applicant is overseas, visiting, studying, working or holding another UK permission changes the application route and switching options.

  • Current passport or qualifying travel document
  • Current and previous UK immigration details
  • Nationality, residence, travel and application history
  • Applicant, partner and dependant information where relevant

Sponsored worker

Certificate of Sponsorship reference, sponsor details, job title, occupation code, duties, salary, working hours and evidence required for English, maintenance or route-specific checks.

Founder or innovator

Approved endorsement, business proposition and founder-role evidence for Innovator Founder, or company, role, sponsor and genuine-vacancy records for a sponsored employment route.

Overseas expansion

Overseas company, employment, UK footprint, sponsor and assignment evidence, plus the documents required to show the applicant meets the UK Expansion Worker conditions.

Health, character and translations

TB certificate, criminal-record evidence or other checks may apply by country, stay length, occupation and route. Documents not in English or Welsh may need a compliant translation.

Decision ownership

One plan, several independent decisions

Company formation, sponsor status, endorsement and immigration permission may support the same goal, but none automatically produces the next approval.

Companies House

Registers the UK company and records statutory company information. Incorporation does not grant a sponsor licence, a Certificate of Sponsorship or permission to live and work in the UK.

Home Office sponsor licensing

Assesses whether an organisation can hold a sponsor licence and comply with sponsor duties. A licence does not guarantee that a particular worker will receive a visa.

Approved endorsing bodies

Assess Innovator Founder business proposals and ongoing progress under their published remit. Endorsement is required for that route but does not replace the UKVI application.

UK Visas and Immigration

Applies the Immigration Rules, requests additional evidence where necessary and decides the visa or permission application. No private provider can guarantee that outcome.

First Elite Global is a private service provider, not UKVI, Companies House, an endorsing body or an approval authority. Any regulated immigration role must be identified in the written engagement and checked against the relevant professional register.

Quote and timing

What affects UK visa cost and processing time?

A useful quote separates government charges, route prerequisites, third-party costs and professional support. The application location and route must be confirmed before a realistic schedule is discussed.

Government charges

Application fees vary by route, location and length of permission. The Immigration Health Surcharge, dependant fees and optional priority services can also affect the total.

  • Applicant and dependant count
  • Inside- or outside-UK application
  • Route and requested permission period

Prerequisite and support costs

Sponsor-licence work, CoS charges, endorsement services, English testing, TB checks, translations, company setup and regulated advice may be separate.

  • Sponsor or endorsing-body requirements
  • Document origin, language and gaps
  • Professional scope and case complexity

Decision-time variables

UKVI processing starts after the required application, identity and document steps. Additional evidence, verification, interviews, demand or technical issues can extend the published time.

  • Identity app or biometric appointment
  • Accuracy and verification of evidence
  • Availability of a priority service
!

No fixed approval, start date or settlement promise: check the live GOV.UK fee and processing tools before payment. Do not treat a target travel date, company registration, sponsor application or paid priority option as confirmation that the visa will be granted by that date.

Questions before applying

UK visa application support FAQs

These answers explain the page's service boundaries and correct common route assumptions. Current GOV.UK rules and regulated case advice remain decisive.

What can First Elite Global help with in a UK visa application?

First Elite Global can collect the initial brief, coordinate separately agreed UK business-setup services, organise document inventories and administrative milestones, arrange translation or document support, and coordinate with the sponsor or an authorised immigration professional. Personal immigration advice or representation must be provided by an appropriately authorised adviser. UKVI makes the final decision.

Is there one UK Business Visa for entrepreneurs and company owners?

No. “UK Business Visa” is a general marketing phrase, not one immigration category. A founder or businessperson might need Innovator Founder permission, a qualifying sponsored work route, UK Expansion Worker permission, Global Talent, High Potential Individual status or Standard Visitor permission for limited business activities. The correct route depends on what the person will do in the UK.

Is self-sponsorship a separate UK visa route?

No. There is no visa category formally called a self-sponsorship visa. A founder-owned UK company may be able to apply for a sponsor licence and sponsor the founder for a genuine qualifying Skilled Worker role, but company formation, sponsor licensing, the Certificate of Sponsorship and the visa are separate processes. All current sponsorship, role, salary and applicant requirements must be met.

What does a Skilled Worker visa normally require?

A Skilled Worker applicant normally needs a confirmed eligible job with a Home Office-approved sponsor, a valid Certificate of Sponsorship, the required occupation and salary conditions, and the applicable English-language and personal eligibility evidence. Requirements depend on the role, applicant circumstances and current rules, so the sponsor and applicant must use the live GOV.UK guidance.

Who can apply for an Innovator Founder visa?

The route is for a person who wants to establish and run a UK business based on a new, innovative, viable and scalable idea. The applicant needs endorsement from an approved endorsing body, must play a key role in the business and must meet the other immigration requirements. Registering an ordinary company or buying into an existing trading business does not by itself meet the Innovator Founder test.

Does registering a UK company give me the right to live or work in the UK?

No. Companies House incorporation creates a company; it does not grant immigration permission. A founder, director, shareholder or employee who needs permission to work in the UK must qualify under the appropriate immigration route. A company may also need a sponsor licence before it can sponsor an eligible worker.

Can I still apply for the UK Investor Visa or Innovator Visa?

New applications for the Tier 1 Investor visa are closed. The former Innovator visa has been replaced by the Innovator Founder route. Existing Investor Visa holders may have limited extension, settlement or family options under the published rules, while new founders should assess current routes rather than rely on either legacy label.

What documents may be needed for a UK work or business visa?

Common starting records include a valid passport, current immigration information and applicant details. The route may also require a Certificate of Sponsorship, job and salary information, endorsement, overseas-business evidence, English-language proof, maintenance funds, TB or criminal-record evidence, dependant documents and compliant translations for records not in English or Welsh.

How much does a UK visa application cost?

The total depends on the route, application location, length of permission and number of applicants. Government application fees, the Immigration Health Surcharge, dependant charges, sponsor or CoS costs, endorsement services, priority processing, tests, translations, company services and regulated advice may be separate. Use the official fee tool and request an itemised professional quote.

How long does a UK visa decision take?

UKVI publishes current processing guidance by route and application location. Processing generally starts after the application, identity and supporting-document steps required for the case are complete. Evidence checks, interviews, missing information, demand or technical issues can extend the published time. A priority service, when available, does not guarantee approval.

Can anyone guarantee my UK visa, settlement or citizenship outcome?

No. UKVI decides immigration applications under the current rules, while sponsors and endorsing bodies make their own decisions. Settlement and citizenship have additional eligibility, residence, conduct and timing requirements. Administrative preparation and professional advice can improve readiness, but no private provider can guarantee a visa, a decision date, indefinite leave to remain or British citizenship.

Start with the route and prerequisites, not a visa package

Share your nationality, current location and UK status, what you intend to do in the UK, and any employer, sponsor, endorsement or overseas-company connection. The team can then scope the business, administrative and authorised-adviser support needed for the next step.
